Name: Jérôme Porlier
Previous title: Vice president of operations for packaging
New title: President and chief operating officer
Jérôme Porlier has been appointed president and chief operating officer at packaging supplier Cascades Specialty Products Group following former President and COO Luc Langevin’s announcement that he would step down in anticipation of retirement.
Porlier took over as president on July 1. He joined Cascades in 2012 in the tissue unit and held various roles in that sector. He moved over to CSP in 2019 as vice president of operations for the packaging sector.
“Jérôme has already made a major contribution to SPG's operational performance, notably by implementing several investment projects leading to the Group's modernization, automation and growth in its chosen markets,” Cascades President and CEO Mario Plourde said in a news release.
Langevin joined Cascades in 1995 as a plant manager and rose through the ranks to take on SPG’s president and COO role in 2011. He still will be responsible for the discarded materials management unit, a division of Cascades Canada ULC, and will advise other corporate departments.
Last year, SPG did $654 million (Canadian) in sales.
