Name: Kevin Weadick
New position: President and CEO of TricorBraun
Previous position: CEO of FleetPride
Kevin Weadick will take the helm on May 5, the wide-ranging packaging supplier announced this week, working out of TricorBraun’s design and engineering studio in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. “As we look ahead, my focus will be to build on the great momentum already in place,” Weadick said in a statement.
Current CEO Court Carruthers is retiring after eight years leading the global company and will serve as vice chair of the board going forward. During Carruthers’ tenure, TricorBraun tripled revenue, grew internationally and entered additional packaging markets such as aluminum cans, industrial containers and flexibles, the company stated. Carruthers also oversaw 30 acquisitions, a list that has recently included Euroglas, Glaspack and Veritiv’s rigid containers business.
Weadick joins TricorBraun from Texas-based FleetPride, which distributes heavy-duty truck and trailer parts. Prior to that, he worked with Carruthers at industrial supplier Grainger. “I have had the pleasure of knowing Kevin for more than 15 years and look forward to supporting him and the entire TricorBraun team on this important next stage of the journey,” Carruthers said in a statement.
Executive Chairman Keith Strope said that Weadick’s “strong leadership and supply chain expertise across multiple distribution businesses aligns with our aggressive growth goals and commitment to providing superior service to our customers.”
St. Louis-based TricorBraun has more than 2,300 employees across more than 100 locations in the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe. It’s currently a portfolio company of alternative investment manager Ares, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and AEA Investors.
